Crean app para aprender zapoteco

Juchitán de Zaragoza, Oaxaca. Alumnos del Instituto de Estudios Superiores del Istmo de Tehuantepec (IESIT), asesorados por catedráticos de la institución, diseñaron una aplicación móvil (app) para enseñar a los niños de forma fácil e interactiva el idioma zapoteco. Biziidi diidxazá (Aprende Zapoteco) se creó para niños en un rango de edad de entre cinco y siete años, con la finalidad de preservar el zapoteco, considerada lengua materna de la región.
Irving Jiménez y Cristian Díaz, alumnos de octavo semestre de ingeniería en sistemas computacionales del IESIT, desarrollaron la aplicación móvil Biziidi diidxazá, con la cual obtuvieron medalla de oro en la categoría Desarrollo de software y videojuegos, en la fase estatal del concurso organizado por la Sociedad Latinoamericana de Ciencia y Tecnología (Solacyt). Durante el diseño del software y presentación estuvieron respaldados por las profesoras Minerva Cruz Loyo y Blanca Elia Jiménez.
La aplicación constó de una interfaz ilustrada apta para niños con tres niveles de complejidad para el usuario: básico, intermedio y avanzado. Además, se integró un diccionario bilingüe (español-zapoteco) por medio de un buscador, posibilitando la búsqueda de palabras para su traducción al zapoteco. La versión de la app que se presentó en el concurso incluyó entre sus atributos una reseña de la lengua zapoteca y la posibilidad de aprender la pronunciación y escritura correcta.
“La aplicación se encuentra en 80 por ciento de su desarrollo, y es posible utilizarla en dispositivos con sistema operativo Android. Se continúa trabajando para que se pueda utilizar en iOS (sistema operativo de Apple) y multiplataforma, incluso estamos por adquirir las licencias para subir la aplicación a las tiendas en línea”, explicó Heliodoro Jiménez Sánchez, jefe del Departamento de Ingeniería en Sistemas Computacionales del IESIT.
Resguardo de la cultura
Con la presentación del software, los estudiantes del IESIT obtuvieron el pase a la etapa nacional del concurso de tecnología liderado por la Solacyt, el cual se efectuará en abril del año en curso en la ciudad de Guadalajara, Jalisco.
“La mayoría de los niños prefiere utilizar dispositivos móviles para su entretenimiento, es por ello que la aplicación móvil para aprender zapoteco ha sido tan bien recibida, pues es de fácil acceso, y se integra con ilustraciones, formas de pronunciación y escritura”, puntualizó el ingeniero Jiménez Sánchez.
Los alumnos, en conjunto con sus asesores, se manifiestan entusiasmados con la exposición a realizarse en el concurso nacional, pues además de contribuir en el resguardo cultural de su estado, podrían participar en la fase internacional del evento tecnológico, el cual tiene como posibles sedes Rumania o Argentina.
“La característica que hace especial este proyecto es el empleo de la tecnología para la difusión y preservación del folclor regional, además de la iniciativa por parte de los jóvenes de sumarse a este tipo de propósitos”, concluyó el ingeniero Jiménez Sánchez. (Agencia Informativa Conacyt).
